Blocked merchants
Whop Cards enforce restrictions on certain merchants by default — there is also a dynamic list that blocks categories for misuse that may ultimately be unblocked. Transactions from these merchants are automatically declined. Merchants marked (Partial) are blocked only for specific sub-merchants or payment descriptors — typically a payment facilitator or a brand with many billing descriptors — rather than the entire merchant.| Merchant name |

Dynamically blocked merchants
Beyond the default lists above, Whop runs proactive monitoring that blocks merchants dynamically. These blocks are not permanent — they may be removed once the risk clears — so this list changes continuously and is not enumerated here. A merchant is added to the dynamic blocklist in three ways:- Proactive monitoring — merchants that show suspicious activity are automatically blocked, typically on a rolling 24-hour window.
- Dispute and fraud rates — merchants with high dispute or refund rates, or those showing signs of compromise or abuse by bad actors, are blocked.
blocked merchant (or blocked entity) reason.
Because the dynamic list updates continuously, treat it as a moving target rather than a fixed set. If you believe a merchant was blocked in error, contact Whop support.
