Creating beta products (free keys)
๐Ÿ’ก Everyone starts somewhere and in our the opinion the best place to start our is with some beta keys. Itโ€™s an easy way to develop a good relationship with your users and create some *hype* out the g

Step 1: Create product ๐Ÿ›

Youโ€™ll start by heading to this page and clicking Create Product. At first this page may look overwhelming so letโ€™s break down the main functions on this page.
  1. 1.
First, youโ€™ll want to give your product a name in the title section.
  2. 2.
If you have a unique product description you can add it here.
  3. 3.
Next, youโ€™ll want to open the license type drop down and select the Beta option.
  4. 4.
There is no price needed since it is a free key or free access to your Discord server.
  5. 5.
After that, itโ€™s time to get some beta users! ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
See below for a quick tutorial. This is a free beta product, where the product has 100 stock, and it assigns the Beta role to the member upon joining the server.

Step 2: Discord roles, and cancelation actions ๐Ÿšซ

Lastly, make sure you set Discord roles and cancelation actions. The Discord roles will be the roles given when a user pays for access to your product. They will get programmatically added to your Discord server + given the roles you set ahead of time.
  • We highly recommend creating a beta role in your Discord so itโ€™s easy to remove the role after your beta period ends.
Cancelation actions dictate what will happen if a user ever cancels their sub. The most common actions are either removing the users roles that are set when joining, or completely removing them from the Discord server if you donโ€™t have any public channels.
(if youโ€™re selling access to a software all of the above will run as well as giving the user a license key upon purchase, and revoking the license key if the sub is ever canceled.)

There are a couple other cool features to note on the product page if youโ€™re looking to get a lil crazy ๐Ÿคช
  • If youโ€™re selling access to software you can set custom key prefixes or product specific download links.
  • The Allow License Transfers lets you enable or disable users unbinding their key or subscription and giving it to someone else. (Ex. trades or sales for your product)
  • If you release a product that you only want individuals who are in your Discord server to purchase you can switch Require Purchaser to be in Discord on.
  • If you want your product to be visible on your products home whop.com page you can set Show Product on Page on.
  • Require Ownership of Other Product allows you to require people to own product x to be able to purchase product y.
  • If you want to grow your companies Twitter following, you can toggle Require to be following on Twitter on and your users will be prompted with Twitter oAuth to sign in and check to see if the user is following and automatically follow your account if they are not.
