Getting started
Onboard a new store
Create your Lasso account
Go to dashboard.lassocheckout.com/signup and create your Lasso account.
Create your Whop business
Go to whop.com/sell/?a=ecompayments (or whop.com/new/) and select Physical Products. Choose your store niche, select the country where your business is registered, and name your store.
Complete KYC verification
In Whop, click Payouts on the left-hand side and complete KYC identity verification.
Connect Whop and Shopify through Lasso
Return to Lasso and proceed through the onboarding flow — it walks you through connecting Whop and Shopify.
Create your payment and confirmation pages
When you reach the Store Review page, create your payment page and confirmation page.
Adding a store under an existing Lasso account
Adding a store under an existing Lasso account
In Lasso, click your brand name (top right) and go to Account Settings > Stores (top) > Add Store (top right). Fill in all details including “Store Name” (top left), click Save, complete the paywall, and proceed through the onboarding flow.
Remove/disable VAT tax collection
During onboarding, fill out the VAT removal form: whoponboarding.com/lasso- This form must be submitted before store approval
- Once submitted, the Whop team confirms VAT is turned off on the backend
- US-based stores do not need VAT removal
- The Whop BizID is required to confirm removal (format:
biz_XXXXX)
VAT removal requires backend confirmation from Whop — it is not instant. If missed during onboarding, the form can be submitted after the fact and a team member will process it.
Set up the DNS record for your checkout domain
Go to your domain host (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and add a new DNS record:| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | CNAME |
| Name | checkout |
| Value | 1a28dfb57b1e1efc.vercel-dns-016.com. |
Install the Lasso code in your Shopify theme
Install in a duplicate theme first
Install in a duplicate theme — preview and test before publishing live.
Add a second/additional store
- Whop review required first — send screenshots of new store metrics (revenue, chargeback rate, shipping/delivery performance for last 90 days)
- Each additional store is $199/month
- Create a new Whop business: Whop > blue plus (top left) > Physical Products > follow creation flow
- Complete KYC on the new Whop business
- In Lasso: Brand name (top right) > Account Settings > Stores > Add Store (top right) > fill details > complete paywall > follow onboarding flow
- Theme code installation is the same as initial onboarding
- Each store needs its own DNS record
Switch/rebrand to a new Shopify store

Approval requirements
- Standard review
- VIP/priority terms (no reserve)
Screenshots needed:
- Last 90 days revenue
- Chargeback/dispute rate (under 1% ideal)
- Shipping & delivery performance
- Active, legitimate store
Payments & payouts
Payout schedule
- Funds settle in 3 business days (T+3), excluding weekends
- No payouts on weekends
- Automatic withdrawals: Whop > Payouts > 3 dots (top right) > “Automatic Withdrawals” > set up payout account
- Manual withdrawals can also be requested from the Payouts page
- Payout currency depends on the KYC country and connected bank account
- If your bank currency differs from customer payment currency, FX fees apply
Fees and pricing
| Component | Fee |
|---|---|
| Lasso | 1% transaction fee + $199/month per store |
| Whop | 2.7% + $0.30 per transaction (base domestic rate) |
| Total base pricing | 3.7% + 199/month |
- Cross-border transaction fee (payout country ≠ customer country)
- Currency conversion fee: ~0.5%
- Klarna/BNPL may carry different rates
To avoid cross-border + conversion fees: KYC with the same country your customers are purchasing from and connect a bank account in that currency. Transaction-level breakdowns are available in the Whop dashboard. For formal invoices, contact the Whop team.
Currency and conversion fees
- Customers are charged in the currency configured in your Whop checkout
- If payout bank currency ≠ customer payment currency → FX conversion ~0.5%
- Cross-border fees apply when KYC country ≠ customer country
- EUR payouts require EUR KYC + EUR bank account
- To change payout currency: Whop > Payouts > 3 dots > Change Account Details > re-KYC
To avoid both cross-border and conversion fees: KYC with the same country your customers are in and connect a bank account in that currency.
Refunds and negative balances
- Refunds are processed through the Whop dashboard
- Insufficient funds: You must manually top up before refunding
- Top up method: Create a checkout link for the needed amount and pay it yourself
- Negative balance: Must be manually paid off
- Auto-refund threshold can be set in Whop resolution center settings
KYC and account details
- KYC is done in Whop > Payouts > “Verify your identity”
- To change account details (e.g., switch payout country): Whop > Payouts > 3 dots (top right) > Change Account Details > re-KYC with new details
- KYC must match the bank account country for proper payouts
- If KYC’d with EU details, cannot payout to a US bank (and vice versa)
Disputes & risk
Chargebacks and disputes
Thresholds:| Dispute rate | Impact |
|---|---|
| Below 1% | No reserves or restrictions |
| Above 1% | May trigger rolling reserve (typically 10%) |
| Above 2–3% | Risk of 100% reserve or account restrictions |
- Disputes appear in Whop > Payments > Disputes
- Whop has a built-in resolution center
- “Accept” on a chargeback = you lose the dispute and refund the customer
- Auto-refund in resolution center: Set a dollar threshold to auto-refund cases (prevents chargebacks when banks redirect customers to Whop support)
- Disputifier and similar apps work alongside Whop
- Disputes guide
After closing a store, chargebacks can still arrive — funds in reserve cover these.
Rolling reserve
When applied:- New stores with limited history: 5–10% rolling reserve
- Dispute rate above 1%: 10% rolling reserve
- Dispute rate above 3%: Can escalate to 100%
- CNY/peak periods with delivery delays: Temporary reserves
- 5–10% of transaction volume held for 90 days on a rolling basis
- Reserve can be negotiated based on track record and volume
- Dispute rate below 1%
- Average delivery time under 14 days
- $250k+ processed in last 30 days
- Good fulfillment data (use tracking apps like Parcel Panel)
- Can negotiate removal after a proven track record
Shopify Payments holds
This is a primary reason merchants switch to Lasso + Whop — Shopify Payments holds are unpredictable.- Lasso + Whop processes payments independently from Shopify Payments
- Shopify Payments can be disabled once Lasso is live (Shopify store still used for product management and fulfillment)
- Merchants with existing Shopify holds can onboard while the hold is active
- Lasso provides predictable T+3 business day payouts
Features & integrations
Post-purchase upsells
- Products with variants (multiple sizes/colors) not yet supported
- Both Whop AND Lasso must activate upsell functionality for your store — request via your Whop team rep
- One-click upsell is supported
- Cart upsell sizing/display can be customized
- Setup: Lasso > Upsells > add products
As of February 2026, upsells only work for USD transactions. Multi-currency upsells, VSL (Video Sales Letter) on upsell pages, more customizable upsell pages, and product variant support are in active development.
Klarna
- Availability: EU only (not UK, not US)
- Dispute threshold: Klarna auto-disables at 1% dispute rate across ALL payment methods (hard rule)
- No dispute mitigation systems for Klarna
- Payouts: Same T+3 business days as other methods
- Finance transactions via Klarna that reach the resolution center are auto-refunded to protect account health
Ad tracking and CAPI
Meta (Facebook) CAPI:- Built-in integration: Lasso > Integrations > Meta > enter Pixel ID + Access Token
- If using WeTracked or Triple Whale, disable Lasso’s CAPI to prevent double attribution
Known issue: CAPI may fire multiple events. A fix is in development — the team will disable and re-enable once resolved.
| Tool | Status |
|---|---|
| WeTracked | Supported |
| Triple Whale | Supported |
| Klaviyo | Integration available in Lasso |
| Voluum | Not natively integrated; postback tracking may break when switching from Shopify to Lasso checkout |
| AppLovin / Taboola | Contact the Lasso team for custom integration |
Affiliates and data visibility
- Affiliates who referred you can see limited data on the affiliate dashboard
- This may include store URL, revenue, and chargeback metrics
- Check with your Whop team rep on exact visibility settings
