# Transfer a membership

> Learn how to move your membership or subscription to another Whop account.

If you have multiple Whop accounts and want to move a membership or purchase from one account to the other, you can do so with transfer links.

  If you made a purchase on Whop and don't see your membership on your account,
  you may have accidentally created two Whop accounts with two different emails.

## How to transfer your membership

<Steps>
  <Step title="Log in to Whop" titleSize="h3">
    Go to [whop.com](https://whop.com) with the email and password (or security code) for the account that has the membership.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open your profile" titleSize="h3">
    Click your avatar to open your
    [profile](https://whop.com/@me/settings/memberships).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the dropdown and select Orders" titleSize="h3">
    Open the dropdown menu and select **Orders**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the menu for the membership you want to transfer" titleSize="h3">
    Click the **⋯** (three dots) on the membership you want to transfer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy the transfer link" titleSize="h3">
    Click **Transfer membership** to copy the transfer link to your clipboard. You
    will see a message in the bottom right of your screen.

  <Step title="Switch accounts" titleSize="h3">
    Log out and sign back into Whop on the account where you want to send the
    membership.

  <Step title="Complete the transfer" titleSize="h3">
    Paste the transfer link into your browser's address bar and open it. Follow the prompts to complete the transfer.

## How to transfer a Whop membership linked to a Discord account

When your Whop account is linked to a Discord account, you'll need to take some additional steps to transfer memberships or resolve access issues. **Each Whop membership can only be linked to one Discord account at a time.**

### Resolving a Discord–Whop account linking issue

If your Discord account is linked to the wrong Whop account and causing issues, you may need to disconnect or reconnect a Discord account to your Whop account:

    Click **Edit profile** to get to your **Settings** > [**Connected accounts**](https://whop.com/@me/settings/connected-accounts/).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Unlink the Discord account" titleSize="h3">
    Unlink the Discord account linked to the incorrect Whop account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Re-link your Discord account" titleSize="h3">
    Follow the steps to re-link your Discord account to your Whop account.
  </Step>

Since one Discord account can't be used on multiple Whop accounts, you may have an issue if you have (intentionally or accidentally) created duplicate Whop accounts. If you have multiple Whop accounts, it is possible that your Discord account is already linked to another Whop account and cannot be re-linked here.

You will need to consolidate all your memberships on one Whop account (following the steps outlined above), and then you can make sure that your Discord account is connected to the single, correct Whop account you have chosen to use.

### Changing the Discord account connected to a membership

To switch which Discord account is linked to your Whop purchase:

    Use a **claim** or **VIP access** link from your membership account settings (e.g. Premium Membership Access). You can find the link in your account.

  <Step title="Sign out of Discord, then sign back in" titleSize="h3">
    Sign out of Discord, then sign back in with the Discord account you want to
    use.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link that Discord account to Whop" titleSize="h3">
    Link that Discord account to Whop following the steps above.
  </Step>

To switch: go to the [**Connected Accounts**](https://whop.com/@me/settings/connected-accounts/) page on Whop, disconnect the current Discord account, then connect the new one.
